Deerfield High School’s Annual “School Chest” 2018 Fundraiser benefited the Michael Matters Foundation and we couldn’t be more grateful! The amazing students at DHS raised $112,120.18 is just three weeks!!! All funds raised will go to brain tumor patients and their families in need.

Annual New Year, Same Wish
Since 2014, The Michael Matters Foundation has hosted the annual “New Year, Same Wish” fundraiser. Our centerpiece fundraiser each year, this highly anticipated event brings together grant recipients, supporters and volunteers to raise money, awareness and celebrate accomplishments in support of our mission. The event is generously supported by our many individual and organizational donors.
4th Annual New Year, Same Wish Fundraiser - Viper Alley
In 2018, the 4rd Annual New Year, Same Wish raised $110,000 for brain cancer patients in need. More than 300 supporters came together at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, IL on February 2, 2018 to raise money for brain cancer patients desperately in need of our help. This year’s fundraiser boasted exciting silent auction prizes to Tuscany, Italy, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Las Vegas and so much more. The money raised will assist with our grant programs at NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center, Northwestern Proton Center, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, and UIC Hospital & Health Sysetm. We are proud to be partnered with these fantastic treatment centers and look forward to helping patients in need.
Other Past Events
Past events that have helped to build awareness and our supporter base include The Stadium Walk, Father's Day Pancake Breakfast, and New Year, Same Wish. Michael Matters has also been the fortunate beneficiary of other individual fundraising benefits, including "Free Cone Day" at Ben & Jerry's - Glenview, Color Run at Libertyville High School, and Culver's - Buffalo Grove.
